What happens when you open a page
This website is hosted on a server of STRATO GmbH, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany.
When you request a page, your device transmits technically necessary data to this server, including the IP address, the time of access, the address requested and information about your browser and operating system. This data is required to deliver the page (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Fonts and images
All fonts and all images are served from this server. No connection is made to Google Fonts or any other third-party service.
Enquiry form
When you submit the enquiry form or your selection in the basket, the details you enter are used solely to handle your enquiry (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). They are not used for advertising and not passed to third parties who are not involved in answering it.
On their way to me the details pass through a small service on Cloudflare Workers (Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). It stores nothing; it turns your enquiry into an email to me and sends you a confirmation of receipt. These emails are sent from my own mailbox at STRATO GmbH (Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin), that is, in Germany. Only if that mailbox cannot be reached at the moment of sending does the service Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc., 2261 Market Street #5039, San Francisco, CA 94114, USA) take over as a fallback, so that no enquiry is lost. For Cloudflare and Resend the transfer to the USA is based on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
The enquiry also carries the route by which you reached the site: “Instagram”, “Flyer” and so on if you came through one of my short addresses, otherwise the site you came from (such as google.com), or “direct”. No cookies are set for this and nothing is put into your browser’s storage. The route is an addition to the page address (for example “?von=instagram”); a script on this site adds it to further links and writes it into the enquiry when you send it. Like every address you visit, it remains in your browser history until you clear it. It says nothing about you as a person, only which pointer to me worked. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in knowing which routes are worthwhile (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
I delete your enquiry once it has been dealt with, unless statutory retention periods require otherwise.
Instead of the form you can always call or send an email.
Spam protection in the form (Cloudflare Turnstile)
To keep the form from being flooded by machines, a check runs in front of it: Cloudflare Turnstile. The provider is Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA.
Unlike the usual picture puzzles, you do not have to solve anything. The check runs in the background and tests whether the enquiry comes from a person. For this, a script from challenges.cloudflare.com is loaded when you open a page with a form; your IP address is transmitted to Cloudflare and a technical marker is stored in your browser for a short time. According to the provider, no data is analysed for advertising and no cross-device profiles are created.
The legal basis is our legitimate interest in protecting the form from automated misuse (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
The transfer to the USA is based on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses. Cloudflare is also certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
You can always reach us without this check, by phone or email. The details are in the imprint.
Appointment booking (cal.com)
On some pages you can book an appointment directly. As long as you do not open the calendar, nothing is loaded: all you see is a button, and no connection to cal.com is made.
Only when you click a booking button (such as “Book a time”) is the calendar loaded from cal.com, together with a small script from cal.com that fits it into the page. The provider is Cal.com, Inc., 2261 Market Street #4382, San Francisco, CA 94114, USA. From that moment cal.com learns that you visited this page and receives your IP address. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) — the click is that consent, and without it nothing happens.
If you go on to book, you enter your name, e-mail address and chosen time directly with cal.com. Those details are processed there to arrange the appointment (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and passed to us as a booking confirmation. The privacy policy of cal.com applies in addition.
Booked calls take place over “Cal Video”, the video service run by cal.com. When you enter the room, audio and video are transmitted through their servers; nothing is recorded. If you would rather talk on the phone, say so in the booking — a phone call does not involve this service.
The servers of cal.com are located in the United States. The transfer is based on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses. If you would rather not send data to the USA, please use one of the other routes — e-mail, phone or the contact form; for arranging an appointment they are equivalent.
Video on the home page (YouTube)
There is a film on the home page. As long as you do not start it, nothing is loaded from YouTube: what you see is an image from our own server, and no connection to Google is made.
Only when you click “Play the film” is the player loaded from youtube-nocookie.com. From that moment Google learns that you visited this page and receives your IP address; Google’s privacy policy then applies in addition. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) — the click is that consent, and without it nothing happens.
The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
Cookies and your shortlist
This website sets no cookies. Nothing recognises you across visits and nothing is passed to third parties.
When you put a photograph on your shortlist, your selection is stored in your browser’s local storage, on your device only. It goes nowhere until you send the quote yourself, and you can remove it again at any time in the shortlist.
If you switch the language, your browser also remembers that choice in local storage, so the site appears in that language on your next visit. You can delete it through your browser’s site data.
